FAQ
Where is it?
JC Raulston Arboretum aka NC State Garden, you can read more about it and when it's happening
here
When should we arrive?
Please plan to arrive at the White Garden by 3pm. We'll have live music at the ceremony and you can also explore the gardens! Remember if you're exploring the gardens that you may want to wear appropriate footwear.
What should I wear to the wedding?
The dress code for our wedding is cocktail attire - think suit & tie, and spring dresses.
Our wedding will be outdoors in the White Garden that is a short walk on a paved path from the parking lot.
Cocktail Hour will be on an outdoor roof top, a short walk from the White Garden, with time to explore the rest of the gardens if you'd like! The reception will be downstairs from cocktail hour with a combination of indoor and outdoor settings.
Late May in North Carolina can be very warm and humid, if you plan on exploring the arboretum gardens consider avoiding narrow heels or uncomfortable shoes.
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We kindly ask that phones and cameras are put away during our wedding ceremony. We will have a professional photographer and we will provide a gallery of pictures afterwards when we are able! We appreciate your understanding.
Can I bring a plus one?
To ensure we can accommodate every guest, we ask that only invited guests attend. Your invitation indicates your party size. We appreciate your understanding and can't wait to celebrate with you!
Is there a registry?
In lieu of traditional gifts, we would greatly appreciate a contribution towards our
Honeymoon Fund!
Will there be a box for cards?
Yes, we will have a place for cards and other gifts at the reception.
What's for dinner?
We're getting chicken, crispy fish, fried rice, and green beans from a local Chinese restaurant served buffet style. If you have any food allergy questions please let us know.
Will there be alcohol?
Yes! Alcohol is only allowed in the areas for cocktail hour and the reception space. There is a 2 hour limit for alcohol to be SERVED. We will be breaking this into half-hour segments at the top of each hour beginning with cocktail hour and continuing through the night. You will be able to get any number of drinks during that half-hour time period.
Can we explore the gardens?
The gardens are open to the public until 7pm after which, they will be CLOSED and we can only be in the areas rented (rooftop, etc)
Will your dog Reuben be there?
Dogs are not allowed at the arboretum so unfortunately Reuben cannot make it. He'll be spending the day with his dog friends back in Pittsboro
